Assistant Professor Yael Travis-Lumer joined the faculty in 2025. She received her Ph.D. in Statistics from the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences at the Technion in 2022. Yael has held postdoctoral positions at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at Tel Aviv University during the years 2024-2025, and at the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the Hebrew University in during the years 2022-2024.

Yael’s research integrates the development of new statistical methodologies and theory with real-world applications, aiming to address complex statistical questions arising from complicated data sets. Her research focuses on three main statistical areas: survival analysis, time series analysis, and machine learning, along with the intersections between them.
