Global Trust in Science: Israel Joins the Conversation

Dr. Atar Herziger and Dr. Dana Harari from the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences at the Technion contributed Israeli data to a 68-country survey on public trust in science, led by Dr. Viktoria Cologna (Harvard University, ETH Zurich) and Dr. Niels G. Mede (University of Zurich). The study, part of the TISP Many Labs initiative, surveyed over 71,000 participants to explore trust in scientists, views on science’s role in policymaking, and research priorities. Representing Israel in such a global effort is crucial—not only to spotlight the perspectives of the Israeli public and scientific community but also to ensure their voices contribute to advancing global science policy. In Israel, participants expressed strong trust in scientists and prioritized public health and energy solutions, while noting gaps between current and desired focus on poverty reduction. These insights aim to guide scientists in aligning their work with societal needs. Explore more at TISP Many Labs
