Abstract:
Accurate documentation of drug injections is a critical component of anesthetic care in the operating room (OR), with direct implications for patient safety, clinical decision-making, and hospital management. However, current documentation practices are often error-prone and burdensome. In this work, we propose an end-to-end computer vision pipeline for automatic tracking of drug injections in the OR, including the timing, dose, and name of each administered drug. Our goal is to enhance documentation accuracy while reducing the cognitive load on clinicians during surgical procedures.
