Associate Professor Galit Yom-Tov has joined the faculty in 2012 where, in particular, she co-leads the research of the Service Enterprise Engineering Lab. She received her Ph.D. from our faculty at the Technion in 2010 and prior to joining it as a faculty member, Galit spent several years working in industry as an industrial engineer and IT specialist, and then as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University.
Galit’s research interest is in service systems, with a focus on healthcare systems such as hospitals and contact centers. In particular, she is studying how data obtained from various service systems (such as call-centers and hospitals) can teach us about customer and agent behavior in such systems, and how queueing models can help to understand the operational implications of such behavior. She aims to build new operational methods for these systems in a way that will balance service and financial goals.
