Associate Professor Ido Roll joined the faculty in 2022, in addition to his affiliation with the Faculty of Education in Science and Technology.
He received his Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University in 2009. Ido has held a Post-Doctoral position at the University of British Columbia. He is also the head of the OECD PISA Innovative Domains Expert Group.
Ido studies the development, support, and evaluation of learning competencies focusing on scientific literacies, creative problem-solving, and sense making. His research utilizes large-scale fine-grain data to identify student learning strategies, interpret these, and offer intelligent support. His work is rooted in frameworks and methodologies from cognitive science, education, learning analytics, and human-computer interaction.
