Assistant Professor Yoav Wald joined the faculty in 2026. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2021. From 2023 to 2026, he was a Faculty Fellow at NYU’s Center for Data Science, and from 2022 to 2023, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Johns Hopkins University. Additionally, he spent three years as a Visiting Researcher at Google.
His research lies at the intersection of machine learning and causal inference, with a focus on healthcare applications. His work spans generalization under distribution shift, generative modeling and probabilistic inference for decision-making, and AI interpretability.
