Yael Travis-Lumer received the Drs. Eva and Shelby Kashket Memorial Fellowship scholarship. The prestigious scholarship for post-doc students was donated by Judith Manelis.
Yael conducted her PhD studies under the supervision of Prof. Yair Goldberg. She will be conducting her post-doctoral studies under the joint supervision of Prof. Rebecca A. Betensky from New York University and Prof. Micha Mandel from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Yael’s expected research will be in the field of time-to-event analysis, also known as survival analysis. Her main goal is to study the waning immunity of vaccines and, in particular, of COVID-19 vaccines. From a statistical perspective, this problem poses several key challenges to the estimation of waning immunity, including multiple timelines, addressing biases, and dealing with dynamic cohorts.
