On March 7-8, 2022, a medical Datathon was held in collaboration with the Technion, Rambam Hospital and researchers from MIT.
The teams were requested to develop a model based on computational learning to solve clinical problems encountered by hospital physicians, based on data received from the hospital. The groups included students and graduates from eight faculties at the Technion, medical personnel and industry personnel.
The selected groups presented their models at the “Machine Learning in Healthcare conference” held at Rambam Hospital in front of an extensive panel of judges.
Congratulations to the winning group, which included five of our Data Science graduates: Oren Ploznik, Omer Shubi, Shoval Zandberg, Yotam Martin and Tom Yuviler – the group presented a model for early prediction of blood infection in bone marrow transplant patients. Congratulations also to the group that won third place that included 2 students in the Alonim excellence program: Alon Zeisel and Ofek Avraham – the group presented a model for early prediction for Corona patients regarding the chances of recovery, and the number of days respiration would be required.
